Guernsey Police are investigating after several reports of cars being broken into near Bordeaux and the Bridge.
Between 17:30 yesterday and 06:30 this morning a large sum of money was taken from a car in Clos De Bordage.
Police are also investigating reports of a person being seen trying to get in other cars around the Bordeaux area.
After posting about the investigation, several further reports were made to Guernsey Police.
"Following our last post regarding vehicle thefts, officers have taken reports of two more incidents whereby cars were entered and cash or valuables were stolen. All of these incidents took place in the north of the island, in the area between Bordeaux and Grandes Maison road/the Bridge.
"An investigation is now underway on the premise that all of these incidents are linked.
"We’d like to ask islanders that live in these areas to check any private CCTV they may have and come forwards if it contains any footage which may be relevant to this investigation. We’d also advise they check their vehicles to ensure they have not been entered and that nothing has been stolen, and to make a report if it has."
Guernsey Police is urging everyone in the community not to store valuables in their cars overnight and ensure they are locked.
"While we are all fortunate that Guernsey is a very safe place to live, denying potential criminals the opportunity to commit crime is an important part of preventative policing.
"Any witnesses, people with relevant footage, or people with relevant information are asked to contact Police HQ on 01481 222222 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
