‘Snow’ chance of it sticking around

Tuesday 09 February 2021

A cold snap has seen an ice warning issued for Guernsey, but we’ve been told it’s becoming more and more unlikely that we’ll see snow sticking.

The temperature in the Bailiwick is unlikely to rise above 2 degrees and could fall below 0 degrees tonight.

“The chance of snow is looking less likely,” said Met Office Forecaster Rebecca Shutler.

“In Guernsey you can expect to see some wintry showers, but not enough to leave snow on the ground.”

We will be hitting the height of the cold snap tonight, before the weather starts to pick up again.

"We can expect a couple more days of it, and then temperatures will rise towards the end of the week," said Ms Shutler.

People have been warned to be aware of icy roads and a ground frost overnight.
