A new prospectus and website have been launched ahead of the Sixth Form Centre moving to a stand-alone location next year.
From September 2025, the States' sixth form services will be based at the former La Mare de Carteret High School site, next door to La Mare de Carteret Primary School.
The high school will have fully merged with Les Varendes before closing this July, once the final pupils have taken their GCSEs there.
As staff prepare to move to the new location, away from its current site at Les Varendes, the Sixth Form Centre has a new, separate, website and prospectus for 2025 entry.
As well as information about services once it moves to La Mare de Carteret, it looks at the past, present, and future of the Sixth Form Centre.

The website and prospectus have been launched now, so current Year 11 students can consider which Post-16 pathway will suit them best.
The prospectus highlights the range of subjects students can study across both A- Levels and the International Baccalaureate, with a total of 49 subject courses available – said to be the widest offering in Guernsey. It also talks to prospective students about the aims and values of the new centre, university application support, and the wider curriculum, enrichment and personal development provision the Sixth Form offers.
Kieran James, Principal of the Sixth Form Centre’s, said preparations for the move to its new site next academic year have continued apace, including the creation of two large new independent learning areas and a new lecture and seminar space.
“As a team we are excited by the opportunities the development of the new, standalone Sixth Form Centre, and the preparations to move to La Mare de Carteret, have presented.
"We plan to seize these opportunities with both hands to ensure that we develop a distinct academic post-16 centre fit for the whole Bailiwick.
"A significant amount of work has been, and continues to be, undertaken to prepare La Mare de Carteret, with remodelling, refurbishing and rebranding of the current building to ensure it looks and feels like a bridge between school and employment or university. We aim to develop a unique culture specifically tailored for young adults to prepare them thoroughly for the next steps in their lives.
“The Sixth Form years are a time for significant personal and academic growth, and increased independence and responsibility. It is therefore vital that we offer a secure and aspirational learning environment which challenges our students as they flourish into young adults.”
