Dr Sandie Bohin's professional reputation has been defended by the MSG after the evidence she gave at the Lucy Letby murder trial was called into question by a UK MP who says the former nurse should be granted a retrial.
The Guernsey-based paediatrician was an expert witness called by the prosecution in Letby's 2023 trial.
She was convicted of killing seven babies and seven charges of attempting to murder six more babies. She was later found guilty of attempting to murder a seventh infant at a retrial in 2024.
Earlier this week, Sir David Davis told the UK's House of Commons that Letby should be granted a retrial because of concerns she has been wrongly convicted.
The senior Conservative MP said he had originally been convinced of the former neonatal nurse's guilt, but has changed his mind and now believes "there was no hard evidence against Letby" and that "nobody saw her do anything untoward".

Sir David said Letby's conviction had been based on a series of coincidences, and he called in to question the prosecution evidence given by Consultant Paediatrician Dr Dewi Evans, and referenced Dr Bohin and the complaints raised against her locally.
"Questions have also been raised about the second expert witness for the prosecution, Dr Sandie Bohin," he said.
"Eight families are currently filing formal complaints against her over their children's care, which are being considered by the General Medical Council."
The Chair of Guernsey's Medical Specialist Group, which has employed Dr Bohin since 2009, said if any complaints have been made to the General Medical Council about her work then it should not be presumed that she is guilty of wrongdoing or malpractice.
Dr Steve Evans, MSG Chair, said he and others at the MSG "were deeply concerned to learn of Sir David Davis’s statements in the UK Parliament" on Wednesday evening.
"We are not aware of any complaints or concerns having been raised through any official channels regarding Dr Bohin’s role as an expert witness in the Letby trial," he said. "She has a long and distinguished reputation as an expert witness, based on her many years of exemplary medical service."

Dr Evans said well-publicised complaints about Dr Bohin, including Deputy Gavin St Pier's use of parliamentary privilege to name her in a States debate, have not been upheld.
"The recent Code of Conduct findings into the Deputy St Pier's conduct in naming Dr Bohin in a Guernsey States meeting are a matter of public record," he said.
"These confirm that, notwithstanding Deputy St Pier's attempts to pursue multiple complaints against Dr Bohin through multiple avenues, not a single substantive complaint has been upheld against her. None of the various independent investigations have upheld any substantive complaints against Dr Bohin.
"If a complaint has been made to the GMC, it will be dealt with by the GMC appropriately and in accordance with its usual processes. The mere making of a complaint does not presume that the doctor complained about is guilty of wrongdoing or malpractice.
"At the MSG we welcome contact from any patient who has a concern over a doctor at the MSG. We believe firmly in a culture of openness – everyone can learn from mistakes.
"On a more general level, I am seriously concerned about the extent to which – despite the findings against Dep St Pier and the fact that his complaints have repeatedly been found to be unfounded – he has continued to hound Dr Bohin over a lengthy period of time. His conduct in so doing should be a matter of concern in relation to Guernsey's ability to attract doctors willing to work in such an environment."
