Second man charged with manslaughter over L'Ecume II deaths

Wednesday 24 July 2024

A second man has been charged with three counts of manslaughter following a collision between a Condor ferry and a fishing trawler which led to the deaths of three crew members in 2022.

Lewis Peter Carr (29) is due to appear before the Magistrate’s Court today.

The UK resident is facing charges alongside 34-year-old Artur Sevash-Zade from Ukraine, who appeared in court earlier this month.

The two men are charged with the unlawful killing of Michael Michieli, Jervis Ramirez Baligat and Larry Simyunn who died when their fishing vessel L'Ecume II collided with Condor’s Commodore Goodwill freight ship on 8 December 2022.
