A second patient in the Bailiwick has been confirmed to have contracted covid-19, having recently returned from France.
The Director of Public Health, Dr Nicola Brink, said the patient became symptomatic on their return, with a cough, fever or shortness of breath.
Confirming the news shortly before a media briefing this afternoon Dr Brink said the person has been in self-isolation since they came back.
"The patient has a clear travel history and went into self-isolation immediately on their return. This underlines our consistent messaging to the community regarding self-isolation, seeking advice if you become unwell having returned from travel and practicing social distancing."

Dr Brink said the patient concerned sought help promptly and is doing well and is being supported by the relevant health care professionals.
In a brief statement issued to the media confirming the second positive case, the States said: "it is important to note that the vast majority of cases (over 80%), infection with the virus causing COVID-19 is mild."
