Members of the Guernsey Scout Association gathered at Pembroke yesterday for what is believed to be the largest event held by Scouts in the British Isles so far this year.
Members of all ages - Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and Network - braved the rough and windy conditions on Sunday for their annual Jamboree on the Trail.
Jamboree on the Trail is an annual event for the World Scout Movement to hike together and is symbolic of moving together in the same direction, towards a better future.
This year trails were set for each section by Ryall Le Tissier. It took the 100+ strong group through the north of the Island, with Bailiwick Commissioner Andy Snell expressed his delight with the turnout despite the conditions.
“It was fantastic to see so many representatives from groups across the island attend this event," he added.
Across the Bailiwick nearly 200 adults support the deliver of Scouting skills to 660 young people on a weekly basis.
