Sark Folk Festival tickets on sale midday today!

Tickets for the 2019 Sark Folk Festival are going on sale at midday today, as the popular event makes a much anticipated comeback, after the organisers had a year off.

A full adult weekend ticket will cost you £75 for the festival which is taking place over the weekend of 5 to 7 July next year.

The Sark Folk Festival committee said it was pleased to announce that tickets were going on sale once again, and also added it was still accepting applications from artists wishing to perform.

"Following a year off to take a break, the committee have already made a start with booking some exciting headline acts from the UK for 2019. Details will be announced later on in the year," it said.

"Festival organisers confirmed that the line‐up will also include a large number of Channel Island acts as in previous years. Applications for artists to apply are now open via the festival website."

Josh de Kooker, Chairman of the festival committee, added on Facebook: "After a much needed year off to recharge our batteries, we are all very excited to be getting back into action. We want next year’s festival to be really special and hope we can once again recreate the magic that the festival is famous for."

In previous years, the website has crashed as too many people logged on at the same time to buy tickets. For the 2017 festival, a new server had to be put in place with tickets all being put on sale again at a later date to ensure everyone had a fair chance to buy.

The Sark Summer Festival, which was organised for 2018 when the Sark Folk Festival announced it wouldn't be happening, is also making a return in 2019, with tickets for that event on sale from next weekend. The two events are being held over different weekends and will include different bands appealing to a wide audience.
