After successfully establishing Sark's dairy and building a reputation for high-quality products, the island's current farmers Jason and Katherine Salisbury have decided to return to their Suffolk farm next summer.
In 2020 the search for Sark's future dairy farmers came to an end when the couple won the chance to start working on the project, to reestablish dairy farming on the 'dark sky island'.
It only took a couple of years to draw eyes from further afield, with Alderney looking to emulate some of their success in 2022.
In a statement the couple have now said: “We are proud to have been the first dairy farmers for the Sark Community Dairy, to establish our top-quality herd and create products of milk, double award-winning cheeses, cream and butter.
"We hope that the newly chosen tenants will take the dairy to the next level with the support of the islanders.

"We would very much like to pass on our knowledge and help whenever we can. We look forward to coming back to Sark in the future to visit friends we have made and see how the dairy has grown.”
Christopher Beaumont, Trustee and Seigneur said: “My fellow Trustees and I are grateful for the time and effort Jason and Katherine have dedicated to Sark in setting up the Dairy as a going concern.
“The Dairy is a vital aspect of Sark’s land management, and their cattle are a welcome feature of our bucolic landscape. We look forward to hearing from potential tenants who want to live and work in this beautiful environment.”
