Maintenance and repair works to a stretch of seawall are commencing today.
Works on the wall from Catioroc to Perelle will address weak points, ahead of "further, more comprehensive maintenance and repairs" that have been pencilled in for later this year.
The works are expected to take around one month to complete, during which time there will be temporary traffic lights on the roadside.
Once that work is finished, the contractor will move onto the next sea defence scheduled for annual maintenance and repair - the seawall at Grand Port.
These repairs are expected to take longer, spanning the summer months and into autumn. Further details about the Grand Port works will be released before they commence, along with information about the impact on traffic and parking in the area.
