The 3rd St. Sampson Rainbows will celebrate its 30th birthday on Wednesday 7 September – girls aged five to seven have been attending Church Hall at Potter Corner every week during term time in that period.
The celebration evening will include playing games and fun activities for the Rainbows and information, sharing memories, a memory book, refreshments, and all will share a special birthday cake.
The Unit is currently looking to contact anyone who has been associated with the 3rd St. Sampson Rainbows since it began, whether that was as a Rainbow, or as part of the leadership team.
There have been just two-unit leaders over the past 30-years. Current leader Jennifer Merrett said anyone who has a historical connection to the group are invited to the “special party”.
“The current Rainbows are very excited about meeting our former girls and hearing their memories. Please just send us an email to stsampsonrainbowsgsy@hotmail.co.uk to let us know you would like to attend,” she added.
Girlguiding is the leading charity for girls and young women in the UK, with nearly 400,000 members. Rainbows is the youngest section of GirlGuiding. They are between the ages of four and seven, and at that age, a Rainbow will usually become a Brownie should they wish to continue Guiding.
