It is now down to the people of Guernsey to decide what the 2021 Island Games medals should look like.
A public vote has been launched to decide between three designs, which were shortlisted from more than 70 entries in the local medal design competition.
The three finalists were chosen by a panel including Guernsey 2021 organising committee Chair Dame Mary Perkins, Rob Girard from Natwest International and Island Games athletes Tom Hollingsworth, Lisa Gray and Sarah Garbutt.
"I was looking for something which stood out as being completely different from previous games medals but also showed elements of Guernsey in its design," said Ms Garbutt.

The medal rim and cross background in Option A will be raised. It will come with a small base unit stand made with resin and Guernsey granite chippings which can be used to display the medal. It will be about 65mm in diameter, with the base measuring about 80-90mm.

Design B features the outline of Guernsey. The 24 segments on the outside circle represent the 23 members islands and International Island Games Association coming together in the Bailiwick to participate in the 2021 games.

Option C is made up of two elements - the metallic part, with a Guernsey coin in the centre, and a resin disc with pieces of Guernsey granite that will sit behind the medal. The rope-like cabling pattern in the middle has been chosen to reflect maritime culture as well as traditional Guernsey jumpers, while the sunburst cut out area shows the Channel Islands as one of the sunniest places in the British Isles.
Voting is open until the end of September and the results will be announced in October.
The overall winner will have the honour of seeing their medals being awarded to local and visiting athletes during the 2021 games in Guernsey, and will also be given their own commemorative set of medals. They will have the chance to present the medals at one of the events.
Meanwhile, all of the shortlisted finalists will be given VIP tickets to the opening ceremony of the games.
