Two of Guernsey's most talented swimmers have come within "a whisker" of progressing at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Miles Munro was just outside his PB of 21.5 seconds in the men's 50m freestyle, coming in at 22.94 meaning he just missed out on a spot at the semi final stage.
Also competing in yesterday morning's swimming session, Tatiana Tostevin finished 8th in her heat in the women's 50m backstroke and 20th overall in a time of 30.19.
A spokesman for the Guernsey Commonwealth Games Association said "Tostevin has impressed in the Gold Coast and the young Millfield swimmer will have learnt much from this Commonwealth Games experience and the world class field she has faced."
Elsewhere, the Chalmers brothers are continuing to impress on the track.
Elder brother Cameron missed out on a spot in the final of the men's 400m having come 5th in his semi final and 13th overall.
He ran 46.34 which is outside of his PB and although he made a good start in lane one, and was able to quickly close in on Grenada athlete Marcelle, he couldn't get ahead of the leaders Yahiya of India and Jamaican, McDonald, with Cedenio of Trinidad and Sibanda of Botswana just ahead of him also.
Younger brother Alastair was due to run in the men's 400m hurdles in the early hours of this morning BST.
Other action today will see Team Guernsey compete in the badminton, bowls, cycling and shooting events.
Following on from yesterday's competition Todd Priaulx is in the men's singles at the Broadbeach Bowls Club after won and lost a game on Monday.
Today will see Mr Priaulx back in action while on the badminton court, Elena Johnson, Chloe Le Tissier, Jordan Trebert and Stu Hardy are all competing. In cycling it's Karina Jackson, Jack English, James McLaughlin and Seb Tremlett's turn in the time trials and in shooting Nikki Trebert, Adam and Peter Jory and flag bearer Matt Guille are in action.
