Emigration from Guernsey reached the lowest it has been in years during 2018.
The States of Guernsey's Quarterly Population, Employment and Earnings Bulletin, released yesterday, showed the number of Guernsey residents increased last year, breaking a pattern of decline in previous years.
Guernsey’s total population increased by 0.7% (460 people) to 62,506 last year; the largest increase seen since 2011.
There was a natural decrease of 48 people and net migration of 508 people.

Immigration was largely consistent with previous years, which has been between 3,575 and 3,755 since 2015.
However, emigration has been gradually dropping and fell to 3,151 in 2018.
That compares to 3,442 at the end of 2017 and 3,793 at the end of 2016.
