People who helped lift a car to free a trapped pedestrian have been praised for their quick thinking and action by Guernsey Police.
All three emergency services were called to the Bridge yesterday morning after a collision between a hatchback and someone walking. The main road was blocked from both sides.
People sat in traffic quickly ran to assist and pushed the vehicle onto its side.
The car was left on its side after the rescue.
Police said the group also “continued to assist when emergency services” had arrived.
“It always reflects well on our community when we come together to help one another,” it added.
One person was treated at the scene before being taken to the Princess Elizabeth Hospital.
Their current condition is not known.
We’d like to thank all of the members of the public who came to help with this morning’s RTC on the Bridge. They helped lift the vehicle involved before first responders arrived and then continued to assist when emergency services were on the scene. pic.twitter.com/gK4jfeU9m0
