Two incidents in the past few weeks, where young people as young as 10 assaulted one another, has led the Police to ramp up preparedness in anticipation of a busy spring and summer of events.
The message comes after a young male was “set upon by a group of young females” before allegedly retaliating on 7 April around Beau Sejour. Members of the public had to separate the group before officers arrived.
The suspects have been identified and related enquiries have been undertaken.
On the evening of 15 April, a male youth was reportedly assaulted “by others” at the bathing pools, but Police only became aware of the incident later that day, with the investigation ongoing.
Police want to speak with anyone who witnessed disorder in the area at that time, with several individuals understood to have been nearby.
The two incidents are not linked or connected to youth brawls reported last year, Police added.

Guernsey Police said it will be “closely monitoring these types of incidents and working closely with partner agencies and event organisers to ensure that our community can enjoy themselves safely” as more people gather at large events in the coming months.
“We will also be ensuring suitable Policing resources are in place to accommodate any additional calls for service and conducting high visibility patrols to reassure and protect the community and be ready to respond to incidents that may occur.
“Our Neighbourhood Policing Team work closely with other stakeholders and partner agencies to identify prime locations and reduce the risks of disorder and anti-social behaviour island wide. The community can rest assured that Law Enforcement will tackle all sorts of anti-social and criminal behaviours, taking proportionate action, working with other partners, and ultimately if needed, the courts.”
