Plans underway for 2020 Saffery Rotary Walk

Wednesday 27 November 2019

Bailiwick charities still have the chance to apply for funding from next year's Saffery Rotary Walk.

The 2019 event raised more than £86,000, which was split between 25 charities and non-profit organisations helping people in Guernsey, Alderney, Sark and Herm.

"This is a great opportunity for local charities to receive financial support and raise awareness for their cause," said Chair of the organising committee, Simon Milsted.

"The Rotary Club and our sponsors are looking forward to seeing if islanders can raise even more money next years. Applications for funding close soon so we are reminding charities to get their bids in so they don't miss out."

Funding can be provided for specific projects, equipment, initiatives, facilities and trips which benefit the local community.

"We would like to hear from any local community or charity organisation that needs funding," said Saffery Champness Director, Lisa Vizia. "Our walkers always raise a fantastic amount that makes a real difference to the islands."

All applications for funding must be in by 17:00 on Saturday 30 November.

Forms can be downloaded here and should be sent via email to charities@safferyrotarywalk.org.gg. They can also be collected from Saffery Champness' office at La Tonnelle House, Les Banques, St Sampson's.
