The public are invited to view on-going hospital redevelopment plans today at Beau Sejour.
Detailed plans will also be unveiled for Phase Two of the Princess Elizabeth Hospital modernisation project – with a planning application set to be submitted imminently.
Questions will be fielded by project staff between 10:00 and 14:00. A 3D video of the new departments, 3D drawings and example images of the new facilities will be on show.
The essential upgrades are planned to complete in 2030 after being approved by the States in 2019. Phase One, which is already under construction, includes a new and expanded critical care unit and theatre recovery ward.
Phase Two proposes to replace the main entrance, the outpatient’s facility, erect new wards for women, children, private patients, and a new facility for orthopaedics.
The emergency department, admissions and discharge unit and theatre suite are also proposed to be extended.

Director of Hospital Modernisation Jan Coleman said she hopes many people will attend to chat about the plans face-to-face.
“Together we are creating our hospital of tomorrow. The upgraded hospital will benefit all our staff and community. We’ll have a best practice clinical environment to help us continue delivering the very highest levels of care,” she said.
“It has taken a considerable amount of work to get to where we are now, and we are delighted to be underway with Phase One and would value showing our service users the Phase Two plans.”
The redevelopment is being delivered under the Partnership of Purpose umbrella to overhaul the delivery of health and care.
The upgrades will reflect NHS Building Notes Standards, adhering to latest clinical best practice.
Phase One is due to complete before 2024.
