New website for Guernsey Housing Association

Saturday 17 November 2018

The Guernsey Housing Association (GHA) has upgraded its website to incorporate more services and advice for residents and other interested islanders.

The new website is designed to ensure key information is easily accessible to tenants and partial owners - including details about their homes, new developments and repairs – presented in a clear and transparent way.

Recognising the need for simple communication and easy accessibility, the GHA said its new website contains practical elements designed to empower and encourage residents to source information about their homes online in the first instance.

One new feature is the ‘repair responsibility tool’ which has been created with the overall aim of reducing the waiting-time for tenants on repair enquiries. Designed as a simple flow-chart, tenants can select their specific situation or circumstances, follow the options that they are then offered leading to a checklist confirming areas for which they are responsible and what falls under the GHA’s responsibility.

“Our old website was a shop-front which housed information about the GHA as an organisation but didn’t focus on practical insight for our residents. We recognise that our tenants and partial owners regularly seek information online and now, at the click of a button, they can find out things that they want or need to know,” said Chief Executive Steve Williams.

“It is also important for us to demonstrate to the wider community the role that the GHA plays in the local housing market. The website details the affordable housing we offer, ranging from partial ownership properties to help islanders get on the housing ladder, to extra-care developments for islanders with specific needs.

“The team at Indulge has done a stellar job at building a brand new, interactive and functional website designed with islanders’ needs in mind. The website will develop as we roll out increased functionality and upload more useful information and we’re sure it will serve our tenants and prospective residents well.”

The new website can be accessed at gha.gg
