New plans have been submitted to build a house of multiple occupancy behind an existing property in Le Bouet.
The property owner had permission refused earlier this year, when they had asked to put up a three-storey house for 15 people in the back garden of a residential property near the Longstore, close to Le Bouet junction with Les Amballes.
At that time, Guernsey Fire and Rescue Service had "severe concerns" with access and facilities, while Environmental Health agreed that fire safety was a main concern.
Both GFRS and Environmental Health have been listed as consultants in the new planning application which asks for permission to build a premises of multiple occupation with bike and bin store and associated works.
As access to the new property would have been through the existing property in front of the new building in the original plans, this time around it has been suggested that a pedestrian access/walk-through is created at the same time.
Other concerns previously raised were around the kitchen - with Environmental Health saying it was not suitable for the number of occupants that could have lived there. Planners also said the previously proposed scheme would overdevelop the site, be “severely detrimental” to neighbours, and was of a poor standard of design.
The new plans have been drawn up by the same architect, JG Architecture, taking the above comments on board.
Previously, seven letters of concern were previously submitted against the prior plans.
