Ross Coppolo has been appointed as Guernsey Ports new Managing Director.
He is the current Chief Operating Officer and first joined Ports in 2010 as a Safety Manager.
There was a “highly competitive and extensive recruitment process” for the MD position and Mr Coppolo will now be working with the outgoing MD – Colin Le Ray.
“As Managing Director, Ross will take lead responsibility for managing some of our island’s most critical infrastructure, ensuring the safe and expeditious movement of vessels, aircraft, passengers, vehicles and freight,” said Dr Simon Thornton, Chairman of the Guernsey Ports Board.
“Ross will have a clear focus on developing and diversifying commercial opportunities, increasing efficiency and continuing to provide a high standard of public service to islanders.”
States’ Trading Group Managing Director, Simon Elliott, said: “Ross has already proven himself to be an experienced, motivational and well-respected leader within our organisation. Ross has substantial local knowledge and is well-equipped to embrace the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.”
