New bus shelter at Cobo

Wednesday 07 August 2024

A new bus shelter is being installed at Cobo by Traffic and Highway Services.

The shelter is being prioritised due to large numbers of people travelling to and from the area via bus.

The move is in line with the On-Island Integrated Transport Strategy which aims to increase the number of journeys made by alternative modes of transport.

The current bus stop is being moved just beyond Les Residences apartments and the new shelter will be added on the land side.

“Following the installation of new bus shelters in St Martin, St Andrew and Pembroke, it’s great that we are installing a bus shelter in such a popular location for both local residents and visitors to the island,” said Strategy and Policy Manager, Colin Le Page.

“This is just one small part of our ongoing efforts to make bus travel a more appealing and accessible transport option, providing seating for waiting passengers and offering protection for users during wet and windy weather.”
