Missing property case put to bed

Friday 25 January 2019

After we reported yesterday that a bed frame had gone missing from a property in St Peter Port, we're pleased to report that the 'thief' has turned themselves in and the matter has been put to bed.

The owners of the furniture, worth around £100, have contacted Express to say the person who took the bed frame has promised to return it.

Following the story we published yesterday about the unusual theft of a wooden bed frame, the case attracted attention on social media. perhaps alerting the alleged thief that Guernsey Police were looking for them.

It may have been a simple case of misunderstanding though, as they've promised to return the bed frame to its rightful owners.

"The thief having made contact has offered to give it back. It was in a private garage under cover but somebody saw that post [on Express] and offered to return it. We weren't planning on getting rid of it at all," they said.
