Meet Miss Alderney

Monday 01 May 2023

Hollie Jenkins has been crowned Miss Alderney 2023, with Abigail Ledger her Maid of Honour

The 17-year-old was elected on Easter Saturday at a special event.

Hollie and her Maid of Honour,18-year old Abigail, will represent their island throughout Alderney Week this summer.

That will entail attending numerous events to present prizes and they may even be asked to take part in some of them.

She has said her favourite Alderney Week events are the Cavalcade and the Torchlight Procession, the Man-Powered Flight and the Daft Raft Race. She will be riding a Miss Alderney float in this year’s Cavalcade Parade. The float will be created by her family.

Hollie comes from a long-established family in Alderney and her talents include playing table tennis, for which she will represent Alderney at the Island Games this summer in Guernsey.

This is not her first title, having been crowned Little Miss Alderney in 2011 and 2014.

Hollie's cousin Adele Woodruff was crowned Miss Alderney in 2008

Along with the Miss Alderney title also come several prizes including a necklace created by Alderney jewellery designer Fire and Ore, a bracelet from Sew Much Fun, a beauty hamper from Boardman’s, an Aurigny voucher for a return flight to Guernseand, of course, a beautiful bouquet of flowers

Maid of Honour, Abigail also received a necklace specially created by Barefoot Seaglass, a bracelet from Sew Much Fun and a bouquet of flowers.
