The man who died in a road incident in Alderney was a UK resident, police have confirmed.
A spokesperson has confirmed 66-year-old Robert 'Sandy' Wade died following the incident involving a single car at Fort Clonque last week.
His family agreed that Guernsey Police should confirm his identity publicly, with condolences being offered to them following his unexpected death.
Family liaison officers in the UK are supporting Mr Wade's family, while investigating officers in Alderney are continuing their work.
A spokesperson for Guernsey Police today confirmed that Mr Wade - believed to be known to family and friends as 'Sandy' - "sadly passed away following an incident involving a single car at Fort Clonque on the 18th September 2024".
He resided in the UK the spokesperson also confirmed.
"Investigating officers have been working directly with Mr Wade’s family, and with family liaison officers in the UK, since the incident, and they have agreed that Guernsey Police should publish his identity.
"An inquest will take place in due course.
"Guernsey Police would like to express its condolences to the family."
