A man is due to appear in court today charged with three counts of manslaughter relating to the deaths of the crew aboard the L'Ecume II fishing trawler.
On 8 December 2022, the vessel sank following a collision with Condor’s Commodore Goodwill freight ship.
The incident resulted in the deaths of the trawler's skipper, Michael Michieli, as well as crewmen Jervis Ramirez Baligat and Larry Simyunn.
A man has now been arrested in connection with Operation Nectar, the investigation into the collision.

The man was arrested in the UK in an operation which was carried by States of Jersey Police officers supported by UK forces, and conducted in liaison with the Law Officers Department.
The suspect has been brought to Jersey and will appear in court today charged with three counts of manslaughter relating to the deaths of the crew.
Police said their thoughts remain with the families of the men who died.
