A 55-year-old man is due to appear in Jersey's magistrate's court today after being charged with attempted murder.
A 34-year-old member of staff at Morrisons Daily at Castle Quay, St Helier, was reported to have been stabbed multiple times on Saturday.
She remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.
In an update issued shortly after 23:00 last night, States of Jersey Police officers said: "Tonight, police charged 55-year-old Trevor Robert John Green with attempted murder.
"He will remain in custody overnight and appear in the Magistrates Court tomorrow morning."
SandpiperCI – which operates the Morrisons franchise in Jersey – yesterday described the 34-year-old woman as a "much-loved" colleague and said it was offering support.
