Some changes have been made to the way the Channel Islands Christmas Lottery is drawn, with the organisers saying it will be done 'live' on TV tonight.
Previously the draw has been made behind closed doors, with the numbers then presented 'live' soon afterwards.
This year, the draw is being made at Beau Sejour, as it always is when it is held in Guernsey, but it will be done at 18:20 with the results then presented on TV and published live soon afterwards.
Although it is being billed as a 'live draw' no other broadcasters are allowed to stream footage of the numbers being picked or use any of the footage until after 18:30.
A number of designated officials will be at the draw, along with an 'Independent Observer'. That will be Wayne Bullpit MBE, who is Chair of the Guernsey Community Foundation. The GCF works with many organisations which will benefit from the proceeds of the lottery funds, which are split between members of the Association of Guernsey Charities.
Also present will be the Presiding Officer representing the States of Guernsey, Jon Taylor; the Chairman of the Association of Guernsey Charities, Malcolm Woodhams and Scrutineer Deputy Montfort Taddier representing the States of Jersey.

By the end of the day, Wednesday 19 December, the jackpot for the 2018 Christmas Lottery had reached £971,000. It had been billed as a millionaire maker during the ticket sales campaign.
The jackpot will continue climbing until the winning numbers are drawn.
