Several refuges were prepared, and plans were in place to get families to safety during Storm Ciaran.
Not only that, but a decision was made for the States of Guernsey to pay for clearance if trees fell from private properties onto main roads, JESCC operators prepared for spikes in calls and medical personal were flown to Alderney to pre-empt any incident that might require a medevac.
These were just a few of the strategic decisions made by the Strategic Coordinating Group, which was chaired by the Head of Law Enforcement.
Many have hailed the preparedness of the overarching group as a success following the impact of Storm Ciaran and the threat to human life was reduced substantially by the actions taken by the group and the tactical bodies it directed.
