People will be able to watch England’s first appearance at a World Cup final in nearly 60-years in style on Sunday with the North Show Committee to put up a big screen at Saumarez Park.
Seating will be provided for up to 2,000 with the event which will see England Women take on Spain set to open at 10:00 on 20 August, prior to the 11:00 kickoff.
It comes after appeals for a public event to be put on to celebrate the teams achievements and hopes to ‘bring it home’.
The States of Guernsey said it wouldn’t facilitate a “fan zone” for the match as has been seen in Jersey due to budgetary pressures.
The big screen will be accompanied by a PA system for the live broadcast.
It’s free entry and free parking, which will be at Home Farm, with refreshments also available.
Not enough money in the States' pot for Women's’ World Cup final fan zone
