His Excellency, Vice Admiral Sir Ian Corder has already completed this year's Saffery Rotary Walk - to avoid a clash with his official duties as the Queen's representative in the island.
The Lieutenant Governor and his son; Captain Alex Corder, completed the mammoth walk yesterday, with a photo shoot at Port Soif to mark the occasion.
The actual walk is being held this year on Saturday 9 June but that is the Queen's official birthday, meaning His Excellency will be busy attending to official engagements elsewhere.

Last year both His Excellency and Lady Corder completed the challenge with their puppy Milo, but this year their son also wanted to do it.
Sir Ian said: “Having taken part in the walk last year, my aim is to complete it every year whilst we are in Guernsey. Unfortunately the date this year coincides with The Queen’s official birthday, meaning that we have other official engagements. So I am doing the next best thing."
The father and son pair walked the route on Tuesday 29 May, taking advantage of the cooler temperatures and misty air, after the hot and sunny bank holiday weekend.

“This is a fantastic event that supports an incredibly wide range of local charities and I would encourage anyone to participate," said Sir Ian.
Chairman of the Saffery Rotary Walk Simon Milsted said he was extremely grateful to the pair for giving up their "precious time today to walk Guernsey’s entire 39 mile coastline to promote this year’s Saffery Rotary Walk."
Mr Milstead continued:
“It is marvellous that they are prepared to lead the way personally in encouraging others to register to take part in this fantastic event, which will be held in less than two weeks’ time. There can be no better endorsement of our event.
"Whether walking just a number of legs or the entire route, entrants are assured of a wonderful day and, we hope, take pride in raising much needed sponsorship for this year's 20 selected local charity projects.”
This year’s walk takes place on Saturday 9 June and will support 20 local charitable causes.
Walkers are still able to register as an individual online until Thursday 7 June and in person on the day.
