Les Beaucamps pupil had knife

Monday 02 November 2020

Police were called to Les Beaucamps School this afternoon and arrested a pupil who was carrying a knife.

The Joint Emergency Services Control Centre received a call from a Les Beaucamps High School pupil stating they had a knife and were in the playing fields.

A Spokesman for Bailiwick Law Enforcement confirmed that unarmed officers were dispatched to the school to speak with the pupil, who was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon.

"After being safely removed from school grounds, the pupil was de-arrested and transferred to the care of health professionals. No one was harmed during the incident."

In a letter to parents, headteacher Martin Haimes said: "I am writing to inform you that during lunchtime today there has been an incident in school involving the police, on the school site.

"Nobody has been hurt or injured and the police have dealt with the incident. All students are safe and well and school is continuing as normal."
