L'Eree Bay Hotel closes

Monday 22 June 2020

L'Eree Bay Hotel and its in-house restaurant, Teddy's Diner, have decided not to open their doors following lockdown.

The west coast hotel was bought by the RED fund last year, who agreed the bars and restaurant could continue to operate as usual.

But, with the end of the lease in sight, both the owner and tenants have agreed to close early.

"I've thoroughly enjoyed my time at L'Eree Bay Hotel and am grateful to the RED fund team for allowing me to continue trading," said tenant, Quinn Hamon. "The time is right for me to focus on my tenancy at The Venture Inn as a stand alone bar and restaurant and I hope to see lots of L'Eree locals there now that we are allowed to open again."

Like other hospitality businesses, the hotel was forced to close during lockdown and visitor bookings had to be cancelled.

"As was acknowledged by Randalls - the previous owners - the L'Eree Bay Hotel's required upgrade was not economically viable and that was the principle reason they had decided to sell it," added Chairman of RED fund, Andrew Haining.

"Our subsequent inspections have identified further issues and so the site will now be locked and secured while we continue to discuss our future plans.

"We thank Quinn for continuing to operate the bar and restaurant and we wish him every success."
