In what might seem like a classic case of island life, Guernsey Police have confirmed they are investigating the theft of a washing line and a pair of trousers.

The grey jogging bottoms and the yellow clothes line were taken from outside a residential property at Les Banques, St Sampson on Sunday 2 June.

The alleged theft is believed to have happened sometime between 22:30 and 23:00.

The investigating officer said; "Any Witnesses to this incident are asked to contact the Guernsey Police on 725111 quoting reference number OC1900003981. Alternatively contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."
