A Jersey-based construction firm has been chosen as the preferred bidder for the post-16 campus build.
The decision has been announced by the Committee for Education, Sport and Culture, with 'Rok Group' now entering a pre-construction services agreement.
The island's Director of Education, Nick Hynes, has stressed that Rok has a "local Guernsey registered entity".
“At Group level, Rok is a Jersey-based company and was appointed following a competitive tender process that local bidders were encouraged to enter," he said.
"Rok, however, offered the most financially and operationally competitive offer. I would like to reassure the community that Rok has a local Guernsey registered entity, and a large amount of the works will be undertaken by the local supply chain through subcontracts and will therefore benefit local trades."
Rok Group is also demolishing the former St Peter Port school at Les Ozouets.
Three firms bid for the contract, and as this is in a pre-construction phase, the cost of the contract is commercially sensitive information.
