HSBC is closing its St Martin's branch temporarily while it is refurbished but the Bridge branch is closing permanently.
The St Sampson's banking hall will stay open while the renovation work is happening at the southern branch, but it will close for good on 24 September when the new-look space opens at Manor Stores.
Customers are told the work at St Martin's will result in a host of upgrades, including a modernised “customer area”, new private meeting rooms, new counter service and a range of “automated upgrades”, which the bank says are all "state of the art".
Alvaro Teixeira, HSBC's Head of Wealth and Personal Banking for the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man said this reflects the wider changes in the way people bank.
"The way people bank is continuing to change and we know from our review that the majority of customers have a preference to do much of their day-to-day banking digitally.
"While we have seen a decline in the number of customers using our branches, we've developed a model that provides islanders with both the opportunity for face-to-face servicing as well as online banking products and services."
HSBC said there won't be any job losses at either site, and staff will continue to work closely with customers during the upcoming changes.
"Our customers are extremely important to us and throughout this transition period we'll be working closely with our teams and customers to ensure that we continue to offer excellent service that reflects the different ways our customers are choosing to bank with us," said Mr Teixeira.

The St Martin's branch will close on 20 February, with the refurbishment work expected to take five months.
The Bridge branch will stay open during this time, but then close - with no job losses across either site, says HSBC.
The changes will leave HSBC with just its St Martin's and High Street branches in Guernsey by the end of the year. There's also a branch in Sark.
