Household Expenditure Survey cash prize draw winners announced

Six more Household Expenditure Survey participants have won cash prizes totalling £1,000.

But more still people are still being asked to take part, as over 300 more participants are needed before the end of April 2019.

The most recent winners were:

  • 1st prize, £500 - ticket number 341

  • 2nd prize, £250 - ticket number 146

  • 3rd prize, £100 - ticket number 382

There were also three £50 prizes which went to ticket numbers 326, 388 and 280

“Wonderful!” said Helen Hubert, on collecting the top prize of £500,"I enjoyed completing the survey, it was nice and easy to do. It was eye opening and helpful to see what you spend your money on.”

You can find out more and volunteer to take part via gov.gg/hes. To say thank you to participants for their time, they can choose between a £25 restaurant voucher or a ticket to the final cash prize draw (which will be at the end of May 2019, after the Survey finishes).

The results of the survey are used to update Retail Prices Index (RPI) basket. Changes in the RPI (published on www.gov.gg/rpi) are used to inform tax allowances, social security benefit rates, pension payments, wage negotiations, rental price reviews and maintenance payments, so are relevant to many people. The data collected in the survey is treated in the strictest confidence.

The survey team is always on hand to respond to enquiries by email hes@gov.gg or by phone on 717188. To find out more or to volunteer to take part (at any time until the end of April 2019) visit gov.gg/hes.
