The Guernsey Met Office has released its weather statistics for 2020, highlighting average temperatures that almost broke the record set in 2014.

The meteorological statistics for 2020 have been broken down into rainfall, sunshine and temperature.

Guernsey enjoyed an average temperature of 12.37 degrees last year. This is higher than the average of 11.4 degrees, and only marginally lower than the highest recorded in the last 30 years, which was in 2014 at 12.42 degrees.

We experienced more rain than usual, with 1,056mm falling over the course of the year, compared to  the yearly average of 839mm.

However, we enjoyed increased sunshine in 2020. 2,059 hours of it to be exact.
