Welcome to this week's Art Fix - the place to be if you're looking for something to do...
There's music, art, and much more to feed your cultural desire!
Showcasing the unique and varied range of wildlife that our beloved Bailiwick has to offer, Guernsey Arts are very pleased to announce that the 2025 Bailiwick Wildlife Photography Exhibition, supported by Mourant, will be opening next Friday the 31st of January!
Adorning the walls of the Greenhouse Gallery at Candie Museum, this year's showcase will celebrate the following categories: Birds, Insects, Marine, Bailiwick Animals, Film & Video and Patterns in Nature.
This year's featured photographer is John Horton. Based in Alderney, John is a local flora and fauna expert who has a keen eye for rare species.
We are once again amazed by the extraordinary snapshots of the wildlife found in theBailiwick, and we’re sure you will be too.
A museum entry fee is payable at the front desk, or free with your discovery pass.
The Guille-Allès Library has announced that The Fab Lab has moved to a new, upgraded space within the Library - and it’s bigger and better than ever!
Thanks to support from the Guernsey Community Foundation, the Library’s creative makerspace has a new home on the first floor, opposite the Children’s Library. The larger, more accessible area makes it easy for the whole community to take advantage of the 3D printer, digital sewing machine, and other cutting-edge technology on offer.
The equipment available at the Guille-Allès Library Fab Lab includes: a 3D Printer, Vinyl Cutter, CNC Router, A1 Printer, Heat Press, Mug Press, Digital Sewing Machine, 2 iMacs with state-of-the-art graphic design, music production, and video editing software, and much more.
Use of the Fab Lab is available to everyone aged 9 and above. It’s free to use, with a charge for consumables such as T-shirts and mugs. It’s open during normal Library opening hours, though timings may change depending on staff availability. Visits must be booked in advance through the online booking system. Each booking is for a maximum of two people - for group visits and workshops, the Library should be contacted beforehand via fablab@library.gg
Full terms and conditions can be found on the Library website at www.library.gg/fablab

Lots of the Collective will be available to talk about the different ways that you can get involved; from bar work to litter picking, painting to driving equipment around. “If you can spare a few hours on the day of the festival or a couple of evenings before and after, then we would love to see you - it’s a great time for a great cause.” We hope to see you there!
Playing their own compositions interspersed with some folk and country classics, Andrew and Charlie return to their ‘spiritual home’, The Drunken Duck, next Friday the 31st of January from 8:30pm.
Finish your week the right way. Bring a friend, grab a drink, relax and enjoy the music!
