SAMBA WORKSHOP: Celebrating 25 years of Samba Burros

If you have ever wanted to have a go at playing Samba rhythms, now is your opportunity!

Join the fabulous Samba Burros to celebrate their 25 year anniversary with this unique workshop, taking place at St James on Saturday the 23rd of November.

Kicking off at 10am and running until 4:30pm, the workshop will be led by the amazing Emma Marsh, Percussion Director at Global Grooves Manchester.

No experience is necessary, just come down and have fun!

Corporate Battle of the Bands 2024

Taking to the stage of Beau Sejour Theatre this Saturday, The School of Popular Music’s Corporate Battle of the Bands is back!

Five local companies are sending their best musical talent to the stage for an epic night of live music. Bands made up of workplace musicians will battle it out for the prestigious Plectrum Trophy and a chance to win £1,000 for their chosen charity. 

The event will start at 7.30pm (doors open at 6pm) and run until 10.30pm.

Christmas Cracker Making at Dix Neuf - Handmade Christmas

Join Make+Made and their lovely friends at Dix Neuf to make your very own set of Christmas crackers!

Next Tuesday the 26th of November, Dix Neuf will provide gingerbread fancies for you to decorate and put inside your crackers. Whether you want to personalise each cracker or keep it a surprise, the choice is yours!

With festive vibes all around and delicious food provided by the fabulous hosts, it’s sure to be a wonderfully creative evening for the whole family.

The Royal Opera Presents: Wolf Witch Giant Fairy (Screening)

Do not miss this 'enchantingly staged' family folk opera, taking place at the Princess Royal Centre for the Performing Arts, next Wednesday the 27th of November.

Red Riding Hood is tasked with delivering bread to her Grandmother, deep in the heart of the fairy-tale forest. But en route, Red meets a cunning Wolf who tricks her into taking a different path. Along the way, Red stumbles into a colourful cast of characters, including a scary witch, a talking cat and a rather persuasive Peddler.

Join our ragtag band of wild musicians as they guide all the family through this famous tale with new twists, turns, magic and song.

GUERNSEY SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA CAMERATA WEEKEND

Next Saturday and Sunday, Youth Camerata will take to the stage of St James for a weekend of wonderful music!

The first concert, taking place from 8pm on Saturday the 30th of November, will feature the Guernsey Music Centre’s premier orchestra, and woodwind solo and group performances.

Youth Camerata celebrates the talents of dedicated young Guernsey musicians.

The family performance, taking place at 2:30pm on Sunday the 1st of December, will see Alasdair Malloy return with a seasonal sensation which contains all the ingredients for family fun.
