Since the first Guernsey Arts Open in 2021, a steady increase of artists have submitted their work for consideration, with last year’s show culminating in an impressive 110 artists showcased in the exhibition space.

Whether you're a budding artist or well established in the local arts scene, the Guernsey Arts Open is the perfect opportunity to explore our fabulous local arts scene.

The deadline for submissions is 30 September

Rocquaine Regatta 2024

The fun-filled Rocquaine Regatta is back for 2024. Enjoy a beautiful day at Rocquaine Bay on the west coast of Guernsey, this Saturday 27.

Unusual boat races take place throughout the day with fishing boats, small sailing boats and motor boats participating in casual yet highly competitive races!

You can join the fun as a spectator or get the children involved by joining events such as the junior sand events (apple bobbing, wheelbarrow races, pick a pint of winkles, three-legged race) or the new ‘Wife Carrying’ event.

Pavement artists, the Guernsey Majorettes and live music will accompany participants, spectators and visitors all day and an evening barbecue will conclude a fantastic day of fun.

There will also be plenty of live music to enjoy, courtesy of The Vale Earth Fair collective. Additionally, entry is free to the fascinating Fort Grey Shipwreck Museum all day, so you can combine your family day out with some fascinating history.

Guernsey Street Festival plus free songwriting workshop

Guernsey’s annual celebration of talent!

The long-awaited festival will be running from the 25 July until 3August in the streets of St. Peter Port, to celebrate all forms of street performance including, but not limited to, music, art, theatre, dance, food & craft.

If you feel inspired by the incredible performances and fancy trying your hand at music; don'tmiss out on GSF’s free songwriting workshop at Les Rocquettes Hotel on Monday 29 July, where some of the island's best musicians will provide expert advice on how to write beautiful melodies, memorable hooks, and catchy lyrics.

SAC: FREE Encaustic Art Demonstration with Lynne Wood

As a part of their Centenary Exhibition, the Sarnia Arts & Crafts Club have organised a series of fabulous workshops and demonstrations for all to enjoy.

This week's Art Demonstration will be taking place at Blanchelande College at 10:00, on Saturday the 27 July.

Encaustic Art is created by heating coloured beeswax with electrical tools to manipulate the wax into images on high gloss paper; there is evidence of encaustic art from as far back in history as the ancient Greeks and Egyptians, preceding many other art mediums.

In this free demonstration Lynne will show the different effects that can be achieved with the different tools. No booking required.

Pillars and The Doll Motel at The Yacht

Fancy some Grunge, Nu Metal and Rock n Roll? Pillars play the Yacht this Saturday 27 with The Doll Motel. Come on down. Free entry, music starts at 21:00.
