International Women’s Day 2024 is here, and there’s no shortage of brilliant events in celebration. Kicking off the weekend, we have the fabulous Vale Earth Fair collective, taking over the Thomas De La Rue for a DJ night. Taking place on Friday the 8th of March from 8pm, you can expect a night of wonderful music by an all-woman lineup to dance the night away - headlined by none other than the Lo-Fidelity Sparkle B**ches. Oh, and it’s free entry - what's not to love.

On Saturday the 9th, the party continues with International Women's Day 2024 at the Fermain Tavern! This event, taking place from 7:30pm, will feature a vast array of talented female creatives; from solo musicians and bands, to poetry and a display of visual art pieces, and even a special bubble set.

The venue will be transformed by The Little Torteval Flower Company, ensuring the setting is as fabulous as the event itself.

All profits will go towards paying performers and funding a free songwriter's workshop for women later in 2024. Donations being taken on the night for Safer and The Nightcap Initiative. Supported by Guernsey Arts.

Finishing off our weekend lineup is 7WOMEN, an amazing exhibition created by talented visual artist, Olympia McEwan! Olympia exhibition will be opening on Friday the 8th of March, adorning the Great Hall foyer of the Royal Court. After the initial opening on the 8th of March, the exhibition will be open to view on Saturday 9 March 11am – 2pm, and will be open Monday to Friday thereafter, during working hours until Thursday 21 March. This exhibition is free entry and accessible to all.

MTG Presents: Fool for Love

From Tuesday 12th to Friday the 15th of March, Music Theatre Guernsey return to the Fermain Tavern for their latest production; Fool for Love! “In a cheap, desolate motel room lost in the Mojave Desert, Eddie and May love and hate their relationship. Unable to make it work or move on, they battle to keep from drowning together.”

Written by Sam Shepard and directed by Simon De La Rue, you can expect a clever production with a fresh set of twists in the storyline. The show plays in one act, making it perfect for a relaxed yet entertaining mid-week outing, without the pressure of a late night.

The Ladies' College Presents - Chicago

If, like us, you just can’t get enough of Guernsey’s performing arts scene - you’re spoiled for choice this week! From Wednesday the 13th of March until Friday the 15th, the Ladies’ College students take to the stage of the Princess Royal Centre for Performing Arts, to bring you their latest show; Chicago.

The story follows Roxie and Velma, two ‘murderesses’ who get thrown in jail, only to be catapulted to fame as the next hot act on the vaudeville circuit. On top of the captivating and beloved storyline, the show guarantees show-stopping musical numbers and toe-tapping dance routines.
