GSPCA called out for a ‘snakeaway’

Thursday 11 August 2022

A stray snake discovered at the Dragon Chinese Takeaway has now been reunited with its owner.

The corn snake was in good health and found on 21 July, the GSPCA reunited it with its owner later that same day.

GSPCA Manager, Steve Byrne, said: “It is rare a day goes by that we don’t help a stray or indeed many strays but only a few snakes each year.

“Thankfully with the warm weather it would have certainly helped keep the corn snake in good condition, but it is a first stray snake from a Chinese, although one did get rescued from the Nautique a few years ago.

“We do currently have a snake looking for a good home called Marli who has been with us for 9 weeks - if anyone is interested in adopting a pet from the GSPCA please do get in touch.”
