Dementia Care Home GreenAcres now has a revolutionary wheelchair which enables residents to go out for walks with their families.

The Ypush wheelchair has been funded using a donation from Mourant.

The electronic wheelchair was designed by Guernsey entrepreneur Brian Harrison. More can be read about its development HERE.

Director and Care Manager of GreenAcres, Moira Boyd, said the revolutionary creation makes it easier for families to go out with their loved ones.

"The Ypush is a great addition to our home as it means our residents can enjoy outings with family members who may otherwise struggle to push an ordinary wheelchair," she said.

Mourant Guernsey's Charities Committee donated £2,500 for the purchase of the Ypush.

"Many of us will know someone whose life has been affected by conditions which can limit mobility," said Managing Partner John Lewis.

"We're all impressed by the work of GreenAcres, so we wanted to support them to help their residents enjoy life as much as possible. I'm glad to see it is already benefiting the people who have had a chance to use it so far."
