Lihou Island could finally get its own defibrillator thanks to efforts from a local law firm at this week's West Show.
Randell & Loveridge will be offering glitter face-paint at the show on both days, in exchange for a small donation towards the equipment.
The firm was approached by Nickie Browning, who noticed the island didn't have a defibrillator whilst helping on a school trip to Lihou.
"Nickie spoke to some people to find out what was needed, found out how much needed to be raised and then she approached us to see if we would sponsor the idea," said Office Manager, Andrew Senneck. "it was a little bit outside of our charitable budget but we were happy to be on board.
"We wanted to do something so we came up with the idea of a fundraising initiative and launched 'The Glitter Girls'.

"Because of Lihou's location, we're aware that there's no immediate access to medical attention. It's a vital, life-saving equipment. We know it has already saved a life in Guernsey this year, so it's something that we're quite happy to be involved in."
The firm is hoping to raise £3,000 over a number of fundraising events. It will make a donation to whatever money is raised through the fundraising initiatives to ensure the target is reached.
"I worked 18 years in the ambulance service responding to emergencies and I used to be a member of the inshore rescue boat," said Community Resuscitation Development Officer, Mike Froome. "I know to get to Lihou Island you have to, when the tide is up, go on an inshore rescue boat. If somebody was to collapse and they were staying overnight or got cut off by the tide, it takes the ambulance service a long time to get there.
"The closest defibrillator is at L'Eree and that's quite a long way away.
"Every minute that you don't get a shot from a defibrillator when you need one, your life expectancy goes down by 10%, so Lihou is a fantastic place to put one.
"Once it's in, I will train anybody that needs to know [how to use it] for free."
