GALLERY: Three cheers ring out as King and Queen wave goodbye to Guernsey

Wednesday 17 July 2024

Some of the final sounds King Charles and Queen Camilla will remember from Guernsey are the three cheers from the crowd that lined L'Hyvreuse Avenue to say goodbye.

Cambridge Park had been site of a family fun day, with a big screen showing proceedings from elsewhere when the livestream was working.

With food and drink on offer, a merry-go-round, bouncy castles and sunshine beaming down, it was a relaxed atmosphere.

Crowds had lined the avenue four or five deep to greet King Charles and Queen Camilla as they went to an official engagement at Les Costils early in the afternoon.

And those that waited for the exit again lined the road to catch a final glimpse of the royals as they were driven away waving as they went.
