A local designer has shared his speculative vision for Belgrave Bay and the futuristic harbour it could become.
Karl Dorfner started his career in 3D architectural animation 15 years ago and decided to independently design a new harbour.
He came up with the design two years ago, and decided to dust off the designs following the announcement of £360 million redevelopment plans for Longue Hougue South and Guernsey's other two harbours.
“Belgrave Bay has always been a talking point, so this is where I focused my design,” said Mr Dorfner.
“The idea was to inject some greenery and some ingenuity into the designs. I wanted to have a bit of fun really,” he said.
It's not the end for his exploration of the harbours. Although there are no concrete proposals, he was buoyed by feedback he has received and wants to engage the community in such a transformative development.
"Following the reactions, I might start a democratic process of design, allowing people to vote on different ideas to build a joint vision," he said.
