Islanders will have the chance to experience the world of electric bicycles on Sunday as North Beach carpark hosts the E-bike Expo.
The free event is being delivered by The Health Improvement Commission, Adventure Cycles, the Guernsey Bicycle Group, and Go Guernsey.
A wide range of different bicycles will be available on the day including: road, mountain, and cargo bikes, the latter being able to accommodate more than one person.
Models from the E-bike brands Benno and Turn can be tested out, as well as EVie bikes which have been available for private hire across the island for a few years.
Alex Costen, Active Travel Officer at the Commission, said “as far as I know this is the first event of its kind”.
Looking ahead to the event, Daniel Thwaite from Adventure Cycles added “now the clocks have changed there’s more people looking to get out there”.
He said the brands which are coming over from the UK are already stocked by Adventure Cycles instore.

Cycling instructors will be present to offer riding advice, and there is an opportunity for people to sign up to adult cycle skills courses. Balance bikes will also be available for children to test out.
These courses are particularly beneficial to those nervous about cycling on the roads according to Ms Costen.
Mr Thwaite highlighted that E-bikes have been garnering increasing interest from the community in recent years: “it’s a huge growth area… and often we get new people who are new to cycling.
“Guernsey is an ideal place for them."
Ms Costen similarly agreed, suggesting that E-bikes have “opened cycling up to all sorts of people… and provides exercise and fresh air”.
She emphaised that both physical and mental health benefits can be realised through regular active travel.
The Expo will be held between 10:00 and 14:00.
