Guernsey's emergency services deslt with a suspected "structure fire" at Fat Rascal on Lefebvre Street in Peter Port on Friday 16 March.
The area was cordoned off while the Fire and Rescue Service dealt with it.
Andy Mauger, the Duty Fire Officer said a fire in the pizza oven had got out of control - he added it should be all clear by around 15:50.
"We have made the area safe now but there was a blaze that got out of control in one of the pizza ovens," he said.
"We are dealing with the fire but it is contained now. One person was injured and is now with the paramedics. All three services are here, with the police helping to keep the area secure while we dealt with it. It should be dealt with and we can clear the area in the next 10 minutes."
A cordon was set up around the tunnel into the courtyard was Fat Rascal and Red Onion inside, with emergency services vehicles all parked on Smiths Street.
The fire was out by 16:00 with the fire service remaining on the scene for sometime.afferwards.
There were no reported injuries and only minimal damage to the property. The restaurant reopened that night.
