If you saw fire engines at St Peter Port Harbour last night, rest assured it was a training exercise and not an actual emergency situation itself.
A number of people spotted the familiar red vehicles at the far end of the arm beyond the ferry check in area and freight storage zone.
The Joint Emergency Services Control Centre confirmed the Guernsey Fire and Rescue Service was conducting a training exercise, now the covid-19 lockdown restrictions have eased and more normal activities have been able to resume.

The crews in attendance at the training exercise were seen to be using the extendable ladder and a stretcher.
